Blackmagic Design demonstrates nine new products at Inter BEE 2008

Blackmagic Design will showcase their product line launched earlier this year at the Inter BEE 2008 show in Japan.
These new products include: DeckLink HD Extreme, a broadcast video capture card, Blackmagic Video Recorder; a low cost H.264 encoding solution for consumer video capture for iPods; Blackmagic Mini Converters; Broadcast Videohub, and the Broadcast Videohub 72×144 3 GB/second SDI routing switcher.
The new DeckLink HD Extreme will be demonstrated with its new features, including HDMI, SDI and broadcast analog capture and playback, 3D lookup tables, and cutting edge 3GB/second SDI connections allowing the ability to instantly switch between standard definition, high definition or full resolution 24 fps 2K 2048×1556 feature film capture and playback. The new DeckLink HD Extreme is available now for US$995.
Blackmagic Video Recorder is a compact USB video capture product for capturing direct to the H.264 file format files used on iPods, iPhones, Apple TVs, YouTube, IPTV, Web or full resolution archiving. The H.264 file format used with Video Recorder allows direct capture to files compatible with mobile devices such as iPods. Video Recorder has an analog component, NTSC, PAL and S-Video input, and allows capture from any analog source, such as VHS, Video-8, DVD, Set top boxes etc. Video Recorder will be available later this year for $119.
Blackmagic Design’s new family of Mini Converters is comprised of five models. Each model includes features such as redundant SDI inputs, balanced analog and AES/EBU switchable audio, standard quarter-inch jack audio connections and an international power supply that includes adapter plates for all international power sockets. Mini Converters include SDI to Analog, Analog to SDI, SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI models at $495, and a Sync Generator model at $295. For anyone who needs a complete bi-directional conversion solution, the new Broadcast Converter allows simultaneous SDI to analog/HDMI and analog/HDMI to SDI. Broadcast Converter retails at $995.
Broadcast Videohub is an $14,995 video router with advanced 3 GB/second SDI technology that supports routing any SD, HD or 3 Gb/s HD-SDI video format. Broadcast Videohub is large enough for the biggest post production studio, and includes 72 SDI inputs, 144 SDI outputs, 72 deck control ports, twin redundant power connections, SDI re-clocking, and 3 SDI technology all in an eight-rack unit chassis less than an inch deep.
